General Motors (MTLQQ.PK:  News ) reported that August sales declined 20.2% to 246,479 units from 308,817 units in the year-ago month.

Total car sales dropped 4.6% to 118,744 units from 124,441 units, while total truck sales fell 30.7% to 127,735 units from 184,376 units in the prior year month.
