TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: A 32 year old male resident of Bojongloa Kidul in Bandung West Java who had suffered from bird flu symtomps died in Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung on Monday. The patient died after being treated for one day of fever and breathing problems in the special treatment ward for bird flu in the hospital.
The patient worked as a chicken farmer in a family farm in Bojongloa Kidul his father 60 years of age said his son caught fever on Thursday last week but was not admitted to hospital treatment until Sunday evening after went to the doctor for medicines.
Doctors at the hospital said condition of the patient's heart, lungs, and kidneys were already severe.
The family farm sold 100-500 chickens a day. The poultry were bought from Ciamis, Cianjur, and Sukabumi regency in West Java.
