Kroft to Obama~Are You Punch Drunk?

President Barack Obama said he believes the global financial system remains at risk of implosion with the failure of Citigroup or AIG, touching off “an even more destructive recession and potentially depression.”

His remarks came in a “60 Minutes” interview in which he was pressed by an incredulous Steve Kroft for laughing and chuckling several times while discussing the perilous state of the world’s economy.

“You're sitting here. And you're— you are laughing. You are laughing about some of these problems. Are people going to look at this and say, ‘I mean, he's sitting there just making jokes about money—’ How do you deal with— I mean: explain. . .” Kroft asks at one point.

“Are you punch-drunk?” Kroft says.

“No, no. There's gotta be a little gallows humor to get you through the day,” Obama says, with a laugh.

yea, give more money to the banksters that caused the problem . That'l fix it. I'm not half as mad at the bonuses as I am at the government refusing to serve the will of the people and giving them that money in the first place. Now they come up with an illegal tax scheme to get some of the money back and they still won't use it sensibly when they get it.

You want to see a depression? Just keep printing money and give it all to the banksters. They can have all the worthless cash while the rest of us turn to bartering and under the table work to stay alive.

i think he's getting some bad advice and also i think he is listening to the media too much.

doing the tonight show and espn was a bad idea and not very presidential in my book.

filming a taped message to iran was idiotic.

i'm actually all for talking to them.

but lets not set up a situation that could lead to a much worse scenerio.
lay off the gun talk.
lay off the moral diatribe.

and please remember that you serve the people. Not the other way round.


and don't be afraid of the market.

those aig banksters shouldn't even have a business anymore that will give them bonuses. They should have also been fired before the government went in for 80%.

agreed..it's appearing clearly day by day that this guy is just a loose cannon, brought in as a figurehead so other countries have someone to direct their ire against..

as for who really runs the country?


well, they are getting the bailouts..


Obama cannot even keep up the pretense that he was a mandate from the people anymore..

hence, his laughter.


He's starting to look and act like a prisoner.

He's not there, I mean I don't feel any warmth or compassion or anything.

I see him, I've listened a bit to him.

I don't feel a soul in there.


Nothing there, i worry some prophecies may come true and a presence eventually will take him over.
