Bird flu cases in Egypt raise fear of "silent infections"

Some health experts are concerned that the recent bird flu cases reported in Egypt may be an indication of an asymptomatic bird flu or that the H5N1 virus is adapting to humans. Other experts, however, say there is no evidence to support such concerns. Officials have confirmed 15 human cases of bird flu in the country this year, mostly in young children who have all survived the infection. New York Times, The (04/20)
