Why the news is destroying America
If your surprised by the statement that the news in the United States is in need of a major overhaul I'm guessing you haven't opened a paper or flipped on the TV lately. 24 hour networks and massive media conglomerates have infiltrated our homes propagating a message of fear and spreading paranoia like herpes.
With the advent of the Internet a whole new destructive, fear mongering machine has been unleashed on the people known as the blogosphere. Independent sites have begun spewing ideas involving vast government conspiracies, alien invasions, and an impending apocalypse that could depress even the happiest optimist. At the end of the day these two radically different forms of media are doing the same thing. Selling fear. One peddles the official agenda of the United States and its corporate allies through fear and the alternative media preaches sinister government corruption in order to receive high levels of internet traffic though outlandish headlines and content. What people don't realize is that listening to 97% of the news is teaching them absolutely nothing substantial. The only thing it's doing is making them scared of their neighbor and government.
