Rum helps too...

If you don't mind waking up chained to an oar now and then....  unknown

a guy who posts at CurEvents, who is about the most level headed prepper I read (he also wrote a great book about prepping) posted this today:

saw this posted elsewhere and thought it was worth pilfering

Here is my suggestion for preparation for the veritable kaleidoscope of possibilities that are headed our way:

Stay Rested

Be Simple

Be Kind

Eat Well

Stay out of Debt

Exercise

Get off the Grid

Stock up on Provisions

Lay low…learn to be invisible

lay low, learn to be invisible... and train yourself to always know your egresses

I'm working on training myself to become very aware of what is going on around me when I go out.   I think of myself as a point in the middle of a circle.   Observe what is going on 360 degrees from that point--me-- out to 20 feet,  then 40 feet,  then 100 feet.

Observe what is going on in a parking lot before you park and get out.  There will be parking lot robberies, especially of people leaving stores with items.

If you have a garage, do what you need to do so that you can pull your car directly into the garage and close the door before unloading your vehicle.  Just an important thought that came to me

Being invisible is easy for the most part as long as you don't do dumb
things like flash big wads of cash for people to see in a store. And dress
in clothes that look nondescript for the most part, sweats, jeans and a t shirt
type stuff. not to mention it makes running easier.

It would also be a good idea to keep a weapon you are familar with close to the
door when you are unloading from a shopping trip. Unless they are utterly brazen
most thieves will wait until you are out of sight before trying to grab anything.
Which with a little luck would give you enough time to duck back inside and arm
yourself if you spot them coming out to get the next load. Or just grab your weapon
after you bring the first load in.

Keeping a tire iron in the same place you store the groceries wouldn't hurt either as
it would be something that the cops would ignore and makes a halfway decent
weapon in a pinch.

I have learned to keep my cash in my front jeans pocket.  I put half in each pocket.  I fold it in half, with the small one dollar bills on the outside of the fold

I used to have one of those stunners, but a nasty person I used to know took it, along with about 12K's worth of other stuff

Have you considered carrying a small bottle of cayenne pepper?

If anyone asks, you just say that you like you food extra spicy
when you eat out. And a small bottle of that will fill the air with
a wonderful choking cloud of dust like powder with the flick of
a wrist.
